How I Lower Blood Sugar In a Pinch

While monitoring blood sugar religiously:

Stop drinking caffeine 

Stop eating

Drink water

Calculate if I took correct insulin dosage - if not, try a correcting dosage. 

*Do not attempt to insulin stack.  

Moderate exercise - like calf raises or a walk/jog. Takes a little time though to see results (Do not be discouraged. It took me mid-3.5 mile job before I realized it was lowering too rapidly.)

*Intense exercise apparently causes higher blood sugar!

**Also high blood sugar causes me to urinate frequently. Choose a route near a bathroom!


When I Can't Exercise because it's the middle of the night or raining:

Reduce stress through music

Lay down 

Deep breathing/Meditation


When All Fails:

Go to the ER - if it still remains ridiculously high (especially if detect ketones in urine - using ketone urinalysis strips I purchased online.)
